4EPS (Vinyl)

4EPS is a stellar collaborative double-vinyl EP from independent label DUN Records. Paying homage to the iconic 1982 Dunedin Double, it features four distinct EPs by Ōtepoti Dunedin bands: Sivle Talk, Sogg, Vagina Dry, and U-No Juno. A scene defining release it delivers a brilliant showcase of noise-rock and riot-grrrl energy from New Zealand’s underground scene.

The compilation has garnered widespread praise for capturing the authentic, DIY essence of the Dunedin music community. The EPs are:

Sivle Talk - CRYBABY: (pronounced Civil Talk) One man band Tane Cotton with his signature, gritty lo-fi post-punk dynamic. The EP features the single 100 Different People - a sharp sonic shock to snap listeners out of their stupor, the song debuted this week in the NZ Hot Top 20 singles

Sogg - Freezer Thaw: this EP highlights the raw, instinctual talent of the local teenage (yes!) trio, with refined sonic density, dynamics, and elements of alt-prog.

U-No Juno - you know: the trio’s vinyl debut includes the hit single "Skyscrapers," praised by critics as a taut, high-energy track characterized by fierce noise-rock production and dual vocal styles.

Vagina Dry - Vagina Dry: Anchored by hit single "Brutalised," a searing, explosive riot-grrrl anthem driven by blistering punk energy.

Reviewers hail the collection as a brilliant snapshot of a tightly-knit, highly diverse local community featuring artists aged 16 to 22. Critics, including Rolling Stone AU/NZ, NZ Musician and undertheradar praise the project's sonic variety, which ranges from doom-drenched post-rock and squalling shoegaze to riot grrrl punk.
